The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has debuted a new festive programme on Netflix, offering an intimate glimpse into her family's holiday preparations and sharing a sweet personal tradition involving a love letter for her husband, Prince Harry.
A Festive Special Packed with Personal Touches
The 56-minute one-off episode, titled 'With Love, Meghan: Holiday Celebration', premiered on the streaming platform on Wednesday, 3 December 2025. In it, Meghan encourages viewers to make each day in December special while cautioning against festive overwhelm. "Try to really embrace and lean into making every day of that month special as you’re wrapping up a year. But don’t feel like you have to do it all," she advises.
The programme showcases the Duchess crafting handmade Christmas crackers for her family. For her daughter, four-year-old Princess Lilibet, she includes a lavender roll-on scent, noting Lili "really likes trying to be a grown-up lady at the moment." For six-year-old Prince Archie, who "loves the colour red," she packs a tiny toy burger and fries.
The most personal touch is reserved for the Duke of Sussex. Instead of labelling his cracker with his name, she marks it "My Love" and fills it with "a little love letter, a chocolate, a little hat."
Royal Traditions and Family Memories
Meghan reflects on her first royal Christmas with the late Queen at Sandringham in 2017, when she was engaged to Harry. She recalls discovering the "connected and sweet" British tradition of crossing arms to pull Christmas crackers, which she describes as a staple of UK holidays. The couple spent Christmases with the Windsors in 2017 and 2018 but have not celebrated at Sandringham since their departure from senior royal duties in early 2020.
The special also sees Meghan preparing fabric advent calendars for Archie and Lili, inserting handwritten notes praising their kindness and bravery. She explains the concept is about "having a surprise and delight every single day."
Harry's Cameo and Culinary Reactions
Prince Harry makes a brief appearance towards the end of the episode, entering a kitchen where Meghan and visiting restaurateur Tom Colicchio are cooking. He greets his wife with a kiss, remarking, "Hi guys. I smelled gumbo." Meghan explains the dish is a Christmas Eve tradition from her mother, Doria Ragland, who always makes a fish-free portion for Harry.
After tasting it, Harry cheekily comments that it's "not so sure it’s as good as your mom’s, but it’s certainly close," prompting a shocked, smiling reaction from Meghan. He also encounters a beet salad containing several ingredients he dislikes, exclaiming, "Oh wow. That’s like the anti-salad."
The episode features other guests, including tennis star Naomi Osaka and Meghan's close friends Lindsay Jill Roth and Kelly Zajfen. Throughout, Meghan shares numerous festive tips, from wrapping presents with wax seals to decorating trees so ornaments "find their light." She stresses the importance of avoiding perfectionism, admitting, "I get so fussed about everything being perfect that you lose the magic that even happens in the mistakes."
This holiday special follows the first two seasons of 'With Love, Meghan' and comes after the Sussexes signed a new production deal with Netflix in August 2025. Its release coincided with a German state visit hosted by the King and Queen and the publication of a personal Christmas letter from the Princess of Wales.
