Meghan Markle celebrated her 45th birthday by sharing playful photos of herself jumping into her swimming pool. The black and white images posted on social media show the Duchess of Sussex leaping into the water while holding a large bunch of balloons. She captioned the post: “Thank you for the birthday love!”
As Ever marks the occasion
Meghan’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, also marked the occasion by congratulating its founder. The brand shared a photograph of Meghan wearing a pinstripe shirt and beige trousers, alongside images of its strawberry spread product and a childhood photo of the duchess. They captioned their post: “Happy birthday to our founder, @meghan. Lighting No. 084 to celebrate!”.
Recent Sussex family moments
It comes just a week after the duchess shared photographs of the Sussex family on holiday, capturing their travels across Europe, with Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, six. Among the photographs, Meghan can be seen relaxing on a sunlounger and browsing a gifts shop, while Prince Harry is playfully seen throwing Princess Lilibet into a swimming pool.
Earlier this month, the Sussex’s flew from Europe to the UK to join Prince Harry, who was in the country promoting the Invictus Games. On July 10, the family had a private dinner at Highgrove House with King Charles III and Queen Camilla, marking the King's first time seeing Archie and Lilibet in person since 2022.
Princess Eugenie's new arrival
It comes as Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank have announced the birth of their third child. The couple’s latest addition to their family, a daughter, was born on Monday at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. The birth is a rare occasion where a member of the royal family has been born overseas, with Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank having a home and other connections in Portugal.
In a statement Buckingham Palace said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces. Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of the royal family were delighted to be informed of the news.”
