Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance as a guest judge on MasterChef Australia, telling contestants to simply call her "Meghan" rather than using her royal title.
Debut on MasterChef Australia
The Duchess of Sussex, 44, walked onto the set dressed all in black and gushed that she was "so excited" to be part of the programme. Her appearance came during her tour of Australia three months ago, filling in for regular judge Andy Allen, who was on paternity leave.
Viewers React to Royal Request
Before Meghan arrived, contestant Poh told the others she was excited to introduce the "mystery guest judge" and was trying to refrain from "swearing". When Meghan appeared, Poh asked, "Welcome. Do I call you Duchess?" The pair embraced as Meghan replied, "Oh, call me Meghan. Absolutely, yeah."
Viewers reacted to the moment, noting that the former Suits actress appeared to ditch her royal title on screen.
