Meghan Markle faces criticism over 'lazy' reused As Ever teaser video
Meghan Markle criticised for reused As Ever teaser video

The Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has faced criticism after posting her latest As Ever teaser on Instagram. The 45-year-old uploaded a video of herself walking through a wooded area holding a basket of apples. In the clip, the duchess, wearing a black dress, cream cardigan and boots, pauses to look up at a tree before continuing on her way.

The video was captioned: “A little hint of what’s coming.” This was followed by an apple emoji.

Footage appears reused

While many of Meghan’s fans are delighted that a new product could be on the way, others have criticised the duchess after noticing that the video is not actually new. It appears to be a re-use of footage taken last year in October.

This has led many people to call it a “lazy” move by Meghan. One person wrote on X: “She's literally reusing the video from last year when she launched her Holiday Collection to tease her forthcoming apple-based product. That's just unbelievably pathetic.”

Fans react with excitement

Someone else said: “What's amazing about this blatant laziness is that it's not like she has anything else going on at the moment.” Another person commented: “She thought a bag of money, access to high-profile people and her own PR team, she would be a winner. Sorry, but you have to put the time in, have a lot of knowledge on what you are into and work your arse off.”

While many have been critical of the video, some of Meghan’s fans have instead taken to X to share their excitement that a new product could be on the way. One fan wrote: “We are so ready, Meg!!!” Another said: “Ooooo, I wonder if we are getting apple butter!!!” A third fan posted: “Her marketing/pr team are phenomenal.”
