Meghan Markle reportedly "can't stomach" the idea of Prince Harry being the only one to apologise to Prince William to end their rift. An unnamed insider told HeatWorld that Meghan believes there should be a "mutual sense of contrition" and that Harry should not have to "throw himself" at the Prince of Wales's feet.
Harry Wants to Repair Relationship
The insider claims Harry misses William and wants King Charles to see his sons "at peace". They say Harry is willing to accept his share of the blame for the brothers' falling out. However, Meghan understands why Harry wants to repair the relationship but does not think it is fair for him to take all the blame.
The source said: "She can’t stomach the idea of Harry totally swallowing all the things that have been done to them and pretending nothing ever happened. She doesn’t think that’s healthy or the least bit fair."
30 Years Since Diana's Death
The claims come as William and Harry prepare to mark 30 years since their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, died in a car crash in Paris. The brothers have been estranged for about 10 years, with William reportedly upsetting Harry in 2016 by questioning the speed of his relationship with Meghan.
In 2019, Harry told ITV they were on "different paths". Things intensified in 2020 when the Sussexes stepped back from senior royal duties and moved to North America. They later made allegations of racism against the Royal Family, which William publicly denied.
Previous Attempts at Unity
The brothers appeared together after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022, but in 2023 Harry's memoir, Spare, detailed an incident in which William allegedly knocked him to the floor in a row in 2019. Attacks were also made in the Netflix series Harry & Meghan. Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace have not commented on these claims.
