Kylie Kelce apologises to Princess Catherine over 'Princess Kate' comment
Kylie Kelce apologises to Princess Catherine over name comment

Podcast host Kylie Kelce has apologised to the Princess of Wales after referring to her as “Princess Kate” on her show. Speaking on her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, Kelce had called the royal “Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge” in one episode, prompting criticism because the future queen is now The Princess of Wales and prefers to be known as Princess Catherine.

Apology issued after criticism

Kelce issued an apology, saying: “I love learning, so I was unaware that calling Princess Catherine Princess Kate was offensive. I didn’t know that. Now I know that. Now I will proceed accordingly.”

She added: “I apologize for the mistake. I would like to refer to people in the most respectful way and how they feel respected.”

Kelce continued: “Princess Catherine or the Princess of Wales, I apologize. I will get that sorted immediately starting now.”

Invitation to the princess

Kelce had originally mentioned the princess when she invited Catherine to appear on the show. In a previous episode, she said: “Princess Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, if you ever wanted to come on and chitchat about some field hockey and maybe kids. I don’t know. We got a couple things in common.”

Kelce noted that their “husbands chitchatted on the other podcast,” referring to William’s appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast in July.

Fan reactions

Despite some complaints about the wrong address, other viewers expressed excitement about the possibility of the princess appearing on the podcast. One fan wrote in the YouTube comments: “If you could get Catherine Princess of Wales to sit with you, omgoodness. You are so wonderfully brilliant. I hope that happens for you, for us too.”

Another said: “OMG I’d love to see Princess Catherine of Wales in your podcast she seems so down to earth and kind but when it comes to sports so competitive lol.” Someone else commented: “Would love to see the Princess on the show.”
