King Charles reportedly has a heartwarming reaction whenever his two youngest grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, are mentioned, according to a source. The 77-year-old monarch was reunited with them last month when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex brought the children to see him at Highgrove House on July 10.

A source told Closer Online that the King is determined to build a loving relationship with his grandchildren, and his "whole face lights up" when their names come up. The visit marked the first time the King had seen Archie and Lilibet since June 2022.
Archie, aged seven, and Lilibet, aged five, live in California with their parents, thousands of miles from their UK relatives.
Bittersweet Reunion
The source described the reunion as bittersweet for the King, as the children remind him of a young Prince Harry. "He says they both remind him so much of Harry when he was a boy," the source added. "At the same time, it’s very painful because it’s been so many years since he’s seen them, that really eats away at him."
The King is said to be keen to make getting to know Archie and Lilibet a priority, hoping to build on the "new peaceful dialogue" with Harry and Meghan.
Willing to Travel to the US
The source also revealed that the King would be willing to travel to the United States to spend time with his grandchildren, despite potential logistical and PR concerns. "If it takes him meeting them outside of the UK, then he’s willing to make the effort," the source said.
"Obviously, it’d be a huge logistical operation and there’d be no end of people telling him it’s a terrible idea from a PR point of view, but he’s at a stage in life now where he’d much rather spend time with his grandchildren than worry about pleasing everyone else."
