King Charles' 'Real Reason' for Bombshell Statement on Sussexes
King Charles' 'Real Reason' for Bombshell Sussex Statement

King Charles issued a bombshell statement clarifying the status of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, leaving many questioning the true motive behind it. On Monday (September 7), King Charles confirmed there was no change to the position of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex following their return to the UK last month.

Harry, 41, and Meghan, 45, stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, with King Charles making it clear that they will remain non-working royals despite their return to the UK.

GB News Panel Debate

During an appearance on GB News, Kevin Maguire argued that the presenters put the Royal Family "on a pedestal" and described the move by King Charles as "very harsh."

He said: "He didn't have to do it. He could have said to them privately, 'Do not use your royal connections. If I catch you doing it, I'll have to do something about it.'"

Dr. Hoenderkamp's Counterargument

Dr Renee Hoenderkamp hit back by arguing that King Charles did have to do it. GB News presenter Andrew Pierce suggested that the letter was actually directed at charities and organisations, instructing them that the red carpet should be rolled out if Harry and Meghan attend events as they are simply "ordinary people."

Renee added: "Not for the first time, I think Kevin is wrong. I think they had to do it because they've suddenly done something they said they would never do and come back to this family that they accused of being racist and toxic.

Speculation on the King's Motive

"They've broken all the rules that they laid out to start with. Looking at their previous behaviour and how they have milked their royal connections without wanting to be part of the Royal Family, apparently, I think he absolutely had to do it."

Speculating the true reason behind King Charles' statement, she added: "I think he had to do it for William."

Miriam said it was "quite a slapdown" for Harry to have King Charles publicly issue such a statement. Kevin agreed, admitting that while he understands Harry and Meghan "trashed" the royal family when they stepped down as senior working royals, he believes King Charles' decision was "cold."

"What a cold father who is putting the institution way ahead of the relationship with his son," he remarked.
