King Charles left in rain asks 'Where's my umbrella?'

The King was left standing in heavy rain at the 45th annual Antigua and Barbuda Independence Parade, repeatedly asking “Where’s my umbrella?” before a member of staff came to his aid.

Charles and Queen Camilla arrived at Sir Vivian Richard’s Stadium shortly before 6:30pm local time. Within minutes of stepping onto the Dias, heavy rain began to fall.

Queen Camilla protected first

Camilla, wearing a white Anna Valentine dress, quickly turned to ask her staff for an umbrella. After gesticulating several times, a Personal Protection Officer ran to her with a clear umbrella as she made her way to the covered seating area.

However, staff appeared to forget that the King was still standing in the downpour. He repeatedly asked “Where’s my umbrella?” while motioning his arms.

King eventually given umbrella

The King was eventually handed a small black umbrella by his equerry as he moved into the centre of the cricket pitch to inspect the Guard of Honour while the rain continued to fall heavily.
