Princess Kate's latest 'masterstroke' has exposed Meghan Markle's biggest flaw, according to royal commentator Sarah Vine. The Princess of Wales completed the Three Peaks Challenge—climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon—within 24 hours over the weekend to raise funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
Low-key pilgrimage praised
Kate undertook the trek alone, with support from Mountain Rescue. Royal experts hailed the effort as a 'low-key act of personal pilgrimage' and a 'masterclass in how to do something worthwhile without turning it into a tawdry media circus or making it all about herself.' The princess attracted maximum attention for an important cause while keeping herself at a distance.
Comparison to Meghan Markle
Sarah Vine contrasted this with Meghan Markle's social media approach, which she said 'operates at exactly the opposite end of the spectrum.' Vine pointed to Meghan's latest posts promoting her lifestyle brand, As Ever, including a new lavender honey sourced from Spain. 'She spent this weekend teasing a new product on her As Ever website alongside the usual carefully curated shots of her posing pensively in her kitchen, caressing her own neck with a fond, faraway look in her eye. Honestly, if she were an ice lolly she’d lick herself,' Vine wrote.
Vine added: 'Everything she says or does, whether it be accompanying Prince Harry on some pseudo-royal tour or visiting a women’s shelter, is not about the people she professes to care for, but really about her. Try as she might, she just can’t hide it.'
As Ever product launch
As Ever has previously offered wildflower, orange blossom, and sage honey. The latest lavender honey release is described as offering 'a delicate warmth that lingers beautifully.'
