Kate Middleton's Festive Tribute to Late Duchess of Kent Revealed
Kate's Christmas tribute to Duchess of Kent

The Princess of Wales is preparing to deliver a poignant tribute to the late Duchess of Kent through a carefully considered gesture at her upcoming annual Christmas carol service.

A Heartfelt Homage at Westminster Abbey

Kensington Palace has confirmed that Princess Kate's 'Together at Christmas' carol service will take place on December 5 at Westminster Abbey. The event will welcome 1,600 guests and focus on themes of love, togetherness, and community, celebrating those who contribute to charitable causes.

The service will be recorded and broadcast as a special programme on ITV1 and ITVX on Christmas Eve, with a repeat showing scheduled for the morning of Christmas Day.

Honouring a Musical Legacy

In a particularly meaningful move, the Princess has arranged for young musicians from Future Talent to perform as guests arrive at the historic abbey. This charity was co-founded by the late Duchess of Kent to support musically gifted children from low-income backgrounds.

This invitation serves as a direct tribute to Katharine, Duchess of Kent, who passed away surrounded by her family in September at age 92. The gesture highlights Kate's dedication to continuing the philanthropic work and values cherished by the late Duchess.

Royal Connections and Continuity

The Princess of Wales attended the Duchess's funeral at Westminster Cathedral in September alongside Prince William, King Charles, and Queen Camilla. At the time, William and Kate released a heartfelt message praising the Duchess, stating: "The Duchess worked tirelessly to help others and supported many causes, including through her love of music. She will be a much missed member of the family."

This will be the fifth annual Christmas carol service hosted by the Princess of Wales, cementing her own tradition of festive events that bring communities together while honouring important figures within the Royal Family.
