Prince William's Children Call Him 'Best Papa' for Birthday and Father's Day

The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a heartfelt tribute to Prince William on his 44th birthday, which also coincided with Father's Day. A photograph released by Kensington Palace shows William with his daughter, Princess Charlotte, accompanied by a message from Kate Middleton and their three children.

The caption read: 'Happy birthday and Father's Day to the best Papa in the World! We love you very much. C, G, C & L,' followed by two pink heart emojis. The initials stand for Catherine, George, Charlotte and Louis.

King Charles also marked the occasion by paying tribute to his own father, the late Prince Philip. A post from the royal family read: 'Celebrating all Fathers, and thinking of those who wish they could be with their Dads, today.' It was accompanied by a photograph of Charles and Philip in military uniform, taken in 1971 after Charles completed his RAF training.

The birthday wishes come just over a week after the Wales family reunited with the King at Trooping the Colour. William wore his red Welsh Guards uniform, while Charlotte wore a traditional cream dress. Kate chose a baby blue Catherine Walker coat dress, reminiscent of one worn by Princess Diana in 1987, and matching heels.

Earlier this week, William and Kate attended Royal Ascot, marking Catherine's first appearance at the event since her cancer diagnosis. The couple also appeared together at Monday's Garter Day celebrations at Windsor Castle.

It was also announced that Prince George, 12, will attend Eton College from September, following in his father's footsteps. He will finish his final term at Lambrook School in Berkshire in July.
