Kate and William's secret hand-holding moment revealed in state banquet footage

Behind-the-scenes footage from the US state banquet has revealed a tender moment between the Prince and Princess of Wales, with the couple seen holding hands as they made their way to the dinner at Windsor Castle.

The video, shared by the Waleses on social media, captured the intimate gesture after they posed for a formal photograph with one of their favoured photographers, Matt Porteous. The portrait was posted with the words 'Ready for The State Banquet' alongside American and UK flag motifs.

The couple played a key role in hosting US President Donald Trump and his wife Melania during the historic state visit, which included a private meeting and the glittering banquet in St George's Hall. Kate, seated next to Mr Trump, was praised in his speech as 'so radiant and so healthy and so beautiful' — a reference to her remission from cancer, announced earlier this year.

For the occasion, the Princess wore a couture creation by British designer Phillipa Lepley: a champagne gold hand-embroidered Chantilly lace evening coat over a silk crepe gown, featuring delicate rose embroidery and gold cording. She also wore the Lover's Knot Tiara and earrings that belonged to the late Queen.

Earlier in the day, Mr Trump was overheard telling Kate, 'You're so beautiful, so beautiful,' as she greeted him and Melania at Victoria House. The president also praised Prince William, calling him 'really amazing' and predicting 'unbelievable success in future'.
