Kate Middleton's Determined Quest to Heal Prince William and Prince Harry's Rift

The Princess of Wales is reportedly prepared to approach Meghan Markle directly in a bid to help Prince William and Prince Harry end their long-running rift. According to a source, Kate, 44, is determined to open dialogue with the Duchess of Sussex, even if her husband does not favour the idea.

The source told Radar Online: "Kate has nothing but peace and love in her heart moving into 2026. She's willing to open up dialogue with Meghan after years of giving her the silent treatment, even if Prince William thinks it's a terrible idea." The insider added that Kate is "painfully aware there's no path to Harry without getting Meghan's blessing" and is working with her staff to find a viable approach.

The fallout between the brothers has played out publicly in recent years, accelerating after the Duke of Sussex's memoir Spare was published in 2023. When Harry returned to the UK last month for a court hearing, William was hundreds of miles away on official royal business with Kate in Scotland and later in Bristol, leading royal expert Duncan Larcombe to suggest the trips may have been orchestrated to avoid the brothers being in the same city.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected back in the UK this summer for the one-year countdown to the 2027 Invictus Games, which could present an opportunity for reconciliation. King Charles is also said to want his sons to make up and has reportedly offered Highgrove House for Harry and Meghan to stay during their visit.
