Jesy Nelson and new boyfriend Ben Davies make first public appearance

Jesy Nelson has been seen with her new boyfriend Ben Davies for the first time, confirming they are an item as they walked hand-in-hand through London's West End. The former Little Mix star, 35, is dating landscape gardener Ben Davies, who previously dated Lydia Bright, an original cast member of The Only Way is Essex.

The couple spent the day together, with Jesy in high-waisted cycling shorts and Ben in cargo pants, a cap and a white t-shirt. After walking around Soho, they headed to a pancake shop in Covent Garden, where they shared a cuddle while waiting for their order.

The singer, who split from her fiancé and father of her twins, Zion Foster, almost eight months ago, stopped for photos with fans who spotted her out. The new photos prove that Ben was the man in a snap Jesy shared at the weekend, which showed a heavily tattooed arm at a rooftop dinner date.

Split from Zion Foster

Jesy and Zion announced their engagement last September, but in January it was confirmed they had split, just weeks after the singer told fans their twin girls had been diagnosed with a life-threatening condition. While maintaining her children come first, Jesy hasn't ruled out finding love again as she balances being a parent.

Last month, Jesy said she believes Ocean Jade and Story Monroe's condition tore her and Zion apart. The twins were diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a rare genetic condition causing muscle weakness that can be fatal without early detection. The singer broke her silence on the end of their four-year relationship during her Prime show Jesy Nelson: Life Changing.

Jesy's mission for awareness

Speaking about the split in detail for the first time, she said: "It's a very traumatic thing that we've both been through. I think it's quite inevitable for things like this to happen to couples. I don't think it's a shock that we've broken up.

"You'll either be a team or it'll tear you apart and unfortunately I feel that's what it's done to me and Zion. We still get on, there's not bad feeling. My main priority is them. I just want to be the best mum with the best energy and positivity possible.

"The house was not like that when we were together. We're both dealing with this situation completely differently, and together we were clashing. I decided we would be better off apart. It's hard. It's just me and mum now."

Earlier this year, Jesy appeared on This Morning and vowed to "shout from the rooftops" to campaign for change. She wants SMA to be part of an NHS blood test that is normally carried out at five days old, and currently tests for 10 other conditions.
