A source close to Prince Harry has offered an eight-word update on his rift with Prince William, saying: “There is a chance it will all heal.” The Duke of Sussex has been estranged from the Royal Family since his departure six years ago, and his relationship with his older brother has remained strained.
Rift deepened after claims
Harry’s rift with his royal relatives, and particularly with Prince William, deepened further after he made a series of claims against them during interviews, his Netflix docuseries and his memoir, Spare. The brothers are not on speaking terms, according to reports.
Following the duke’s return to Britain, sources say his rift with William could have a “chance” to heal. One royal source told People magazine: “The King would love to have Harry around.”
King's wish to see grandchildren
The King, who is still receiving treatment for cancer after being diagnosed with the disease in 2024, would be longing to spend more time with all five of his grandchildren. Harry met with his father last month at Highgrove House, during his five-day trip to the UK.
The duke was joined by his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. Queen Camilla was also present at the private family gathering.
Sussexes' return to Britain
The Sussexes sent shockwaves around the world last week when their plans to relocate to Britain were announced. Harry, Meghan, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet flew into the country on a private plane from California shortly before midday on Wednesday, landing at Birmingham Airport.
The family were said to have travelled on a Bombardier Global Express XRS luxury long-range business jet. A spokesman for the duke and duchess declined to comment on their travel movements, citing the importance of privacy and security. “This is not something we would comment on,” the spokesman said.
