A paranormal investigator who shares her home with dozens of haunted dolls has revealed the festive season sends them into overdrive, once sparking a "full on prank war" in her living room.
Festive Mischief with 54 Haunted Dolls
Teej, a US-based paranormal investigator and collector of haunted items, has spent the last five years building a collection of ghoulish artefacts. She now lives with a vast assortment of 54 haunted dolls, which have their own dedicated room in her house.
On ordinary days, the spirits within the dolls are known to cause havoc by flickering lights, raiding the refrigerator, and hijacking electronics to play music. However, Teej claims that when Christmas arrives, the activity escalates dramatically.
"I've had a few favourite moments happen around Christmas," Teej explained. She described one particular festive season when she hung small stockings on the shelving unit housing her doll collection.
"What started as a festive gesture quickly turned into a full-blown prank war. Every time I turned my back, the stockings would get pulled down," she said. This became a daily December ritual, with Teej re-hanging the stockings only for them to be knocked down again.
Eventually, she made a deal with the spirits: whichever one kept its stocking up until Christmas Day without interference would receive an extra gift. By Christmas morning, only two stockings remained hanging.
Spooky Surprises and Ground Rules
Another eerie incident occurred while Teej was filming a video for her TikTok account. As she was finishing up, music suddenly began blaring from her Alexa device downstairs. She investigated to find a Queen song playing, which she says is fitting as it's the favourite band of her haunted teddy bear, Jeremiah.
To manage the constant supernatural antics, Teej has established clear rules with her paranormal roommates. When welcoming a new haunted doll into her home, she verbally sets boundaries.
"We clearly explain our expectations: no harm to us, our pets, or anyone who visits the house," Teej stated. The rules also stipulate that no exterior doors or windows be opened, primarily to keep pets safe.
One rule was added out of necessity: no blasting music or TV at full volume. This came after Teej once returned home to find a movie playing so loudly she could hear it from the street.
A Lifelong Fascination with Spirits
Teej's interest in the paranormal began after a dramatic childhood experience when she was just six years old. Using an Ovilus device—which supposedly converts environmental energy into words—with her ghost-hunting family, the device suddenly displayed the warning: 'Get out of the way, fast.'
The family moved immediately, and seconds later, a car sped around the corner in the dark. Teej believes they could have been hit if they hadn't heeded the warning.
"That moment stuck with me," she recalled. "It felt like a spirit was trying to help us. That was the first time I felt like a spirit interaction was actually positive."
This early encounter shaped her approach to the paranormal and fuels her specific interest in collecting haunted items, particularly dolls, that carry positive energy. Despite the unusual antics, Teej says the holiday season brings a unique and special kind of joy to her haunted home.
