Harry's Reconciliation Plan with William Revealed
Harry's Reconciliation Plan with William Revealed

Prince Harry reportedly wants to mend his relationship with his estranged brother, Prince William, before the 30th anniversary of their mother's death, but royal author Omid Scobie doubts it will make any difference.

The brothers lost their mother, Diana, after a car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997, in the full glare of the world's media. Harry's 2023 memoir Spare contained criticism of William and Kate, and the level of backlash against the book seemed to take the Duke of Sussex by surprise.

Sources Claim Harry Wants to Patch Things Up

Sources close to Harry claim that now he and Meghan Markle, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are living in the UK again, he is keen to reconcile with his family, especially his brother. Some speculate it may be expedient for him to do so after banking more than £20 million from the book, or that a royal reconciliation could make a good new Netflix show or book.

Royal author Omid Scobie, once dubbed Harry and Meghan's 'cheerleader', told ABC News when asked if the anniversary of Diana's death might provide an opportunity for the feud to end: "I can't see it making any difference, but one can always hope."

Scobie Says William Relationship Will Never Improve

Scobie claimed King Charles now has a 'warmth' towards the Sussexes, but insisted Harry's relationship with William will never improve. He said: "I think we've seen with Charles things have moved forward and that iciness has thawed out. There's a warmth there. With William, I don't see it will ever change."

He added: "There's always this talk of Kate potentially being the peacekeeper, the one that could bring the two brothers together. If I've learned anything over the years from covering them, it's that Kate has very little to do with that relationship between the brothers."

Harry has previously said he "would love reconciliation with my family" and there was "no point in continuing to fight anymore". William and Harry have reportedly not spoken since the time of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022.

Until Harry grovels for forgiveness from not just William and Kate but Camilla too, and follows that with a public apology and a large donation from his book sales to one of William's charities, the icy relationship is unlikely to thaw.
