Darts legend Glen Durrant has praised the work of Sky Sports presenting duo Emma Paton and Anna Woolhouse, highlighting their impact on the sport. Both have become fan favourites through their television coverage over the past couple of years.
Presenters' Roles on Sky Sports
Emma serves as the sport's main anchor across multiple tournaments throughout the year, while Anna steps out from her role as a boxing host to present the afternoon sessions of the World Darts Championship.
Durrant, their colleague on Sky Sports, won the Premier League in 2020 after stepping up from the WDF as a three-time successive winner the year before. His rise in the PDC came in the same year Emma took over as Sky Sports' lead presenter for darts from Dave Clark.
Career Backgrounds of Paton and Woolhouse
Emma first joined Sky in 2012 and worked behind the scenes until becoming a presenter on Sky Sports News in 2019, soon becoming the face of darts. Meanwhile, Anna is a favourite face at Ally Pally during the World Championships as she steps away from her lead role as boxing presenter.
Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star Sport, via OLBG, Durrant commented on the work that both presenters put in, having worked alongside the duo for several years.
Durrant's Verdict on the Duo
He said: "Emma Paton is the most professional, diligent, hard-working person I've ever met in darts – not presenting, not journalism, just in darts. I think she is unbelievable.
"The work she does beforehand, the information and knowledge she has on the player is second to none. If she was a dart player, she'd be like Damon Heta, who I found the hardest-working dart player I've ever got to know.
"Brilliant. Anna Woolhouse is just an incredible broadcaster. I remember an occasion where we were sat there live on Sky, and all of a sudden the screens just went off. I was beginning to panic there. I'm not looking at any numbers, can't remember the games I've been on, and she just dealt with it fantastically well. So there's that clear distinction from presenter, commentator, to pundit, which is certainly what I've learned."
