The rift at the heart of the British monarchy appears deeper than ever, as the Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry, has confirmed a complete lack of communication with his father, King Charles III, following the Monarch's cancer diagnosis.
The revelation was made during a candid interview with Good Morning America, where Harry was questioned about his relationship with the King. His response painted a stark picture of the ongoing estrangement, suggesting that royal duties have taken precedence over familial reconciliation.
A Family Divided
This public admission underscores the profound and seemingly unbridgeable distance that has grown between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family since Harry and Meghan's step back from official duties in 2020. The King's illness, rather than acting as a catalyst for healing, has instead highlighted the persistent silence.
Harry did, however, express a glimmer of hope for the future, stating his love for his family and believing that his work could eventually be "united with the bigger mission and purpose that they have." Yet, this optimism is tempered by the current reality of no contact.
A Swift but Superficial Visit
