Prince Harry's 'Miserable' Reaction to Meghan Markle's Suits Sex Scene
Harry's 'electric shock' reaction to Meghan's TV scene

In a remarkably candid revelation from his autobiography, Prince Harry has described the profound discomfort he felt upon watching a passionate scene featuring his then-future wife, Meghan Markle, in her hit television show Suits.

The 'Miserable' Moment from Suits

The Duke of Sussex recalled in his 2023 memoir, Spare, the specific moment that left him feeling wretched. Before their relationship began in 2016, Meghan was well-known for her role as paralegal Rachel Zane in the American legal drama. Her character's romantic storyline with Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams, was a central plot point.

Harry wrote about witnessing a particular scene from the show's second season, which he described as seeing her and a castmate "mauling each other in some sort of office or conference room". He confessed that the experience was so unsettling he whimsically suggested he needed "electric shock" therapy to erase the memory. He bluntly added that he "didn't need to see such things live".

Palace Intervention in Meghan's Acting Career

The revelation of Harry's intense reaction is followed by reports of direct intervention from the Royal Household. According to author Tom Bower in his book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors, the Palace took steps to control Meghan's on-screen portrayal once her relationship with the Prince became serious.

Bower revealed that scripts were subsequently forwarded to Kensington Palace for approval, with specific demands for changes being sent back to the production team in Los Angeles. The most significant order concerned Meghan's final scene, which depicted her character's wedding to Mike Ross.

The Palace explicitly ordered that no photographs were to be shot of Meghan wearing a wedding dress, and she was instructed to always wear a jacket over the dress between filming. This directive reportedly altered the atmosphere on set.

Meghan Markle's Unexpected Return to Acting

Following her departure from acting after marrying Prince Harry in 2018, Meghan Markle is now poised for a return to the screen. This marks her first acting role since 2017.

The Duchess of Sussex, 44, is set to star in the new film Close Personal Friends, which is currently shooting in Pasadena, California. The mid-budget romantic comedy features an ensemble cast including Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid, and Henry Golding. The plot revolves around two couples—one famous, one not—who become friends while on holiday.

This move comes as a surprise, given Meghan's own comments in a 2022 interview with Variety magazine, where she stated, "I'm done. I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not" return to acting. A source told The Daily Mail that this comeback "was never in her plan", signalling an unexpected shift in her professional trajectory as she and Harry continue to build their lives in the United States.
