Prince Harry is reportedly “shocked” by Prince William’s behaviour since his return to the UK, according to a source. The Duke of Sussex moved back to Britain in August with his wife Meghan Markle and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, citing the “opportunities” available for the family. However, living closer to his royal relatives has not led to a reconciliation with his brother.
Tensions Remain High Between the Brothers
Relations between Harry and some royal relatives have been strained since he stepped back from royal duties in 2020, particularly with William. Despite now living in the same country, the brothers remain on non-talking terms, and William has not publicly mentioned Harry’s return.
A source told RadarOnline.com: “William's acting like Harry and Meghan don't exist. Ignoring Harry is his way of handling what he considers to be a wretchedly unpleasant situation.”
Harry's Frustration Over Lack of Forgiveness
The source said this has been “infuriating” for Harry, who has repeatedly expressed a desire to reconcile with his older brother. The source added: “It's infuriating to him (Harry). Harry's known to be impulsive, and the more wound up he gets, the more likely he is to follow through on threats to make William regret this.”
“He insists he's tried to find every possible way to say that he's sorry. He's genuinely shocked that there's not even been a shred of forgiveness on William's part,” the source continued.
King Charles Makes an Effort
William has kept his distance from Harry for several years, with Harry’s memoir Spare, released in 2023, believed to be the final straw for the future king. Although the brothers have been in the same room since the book’s release, they are not believed to have spoken.
In contrast, King Charles has been making an effort with both sons. The monarch hosted Harry and his family at Highgrove for a family meeting in July, a month before Harry’s move back to the UK. However, the King has not seen his youngest son, his daughter-in-law, or his grandchildren since they settled back in Britain, reportedly due to his busy diary.
