Harry and Meghan 'fed up' with UK, 'homesick' for California

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly "fed up" with life in the UK after returning at the end of August. The couple spent six years living in the USA after quitting their royal roles in 2020. Now, they're back for what is being called an "extended" period of time.

Reported feelings of discontent

Charlotte Griffiths, editor at large of Mail Online, says: "I'm hearing that she [Meghan] and Harry are both feeling fed up and say they've had enough - it's not working here in the UK. They don't think it's working out. They don't have high hopes for their security, and they're a bit worried about how they're being received here in the UK, and it's getting them down a bit. They're actually getting quite homesick for California, so I hear."

She adds: "In fact, some of their friends are fearing that when they go home for both half term, which is coming up in just a couple of weeks' time and for Christmas, they might not end up coming back. So my bets are that I don't think we will see them here beyond Christmas. I'm just going to put that out there now. So watch this space because it sounds like their move to the UK might not last as long as we had expected."

Life in the Cotswolds

The couple have been setting up their life in the Cotswolds since moving back. Meghan and Harry have kept a low profile since returning to Britain. Meghan has reportedly been keen to focus her time on making sure Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, now aged seven and five, were settled into their new life in Britain. The children were forced to move schools due to a security concern with the Sussexes getting off to a rocky start.

Public appearances and security dispute

Prince Harry has made a string of public appearances since the move, including attending the WellChild Awards and the Invictus Spirit Gala Dinner and Awards. The Duke also attended a black-tie gala supporting Ukraine before making a brief trip back to the US for engagements in New York. The Sussexes' return to Britain has come as their long-running dispute over security arrangements continues.
