Harry and Meghan face Christmas divide over UK or US plans

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly facing a difficult decision over where to spend Christmas, with an insider claiming the couple are "not on the same page" about their festive plans.

The Sussexes moved back to the UK at the end of August with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, after spending six years living in California following their departure from royal duties in 2020.

Christmas plans cause divide

An inside source told Heatworld that the couple cannot decide whether to spend the holidays in the United Kingdom with the Windsors or the Spencers, or with Meghan's mother Doria Ragland in California.

The source said: "With the kids in school, they can’t keep bouncing between California and the UK whenever they feel like it, so they’ve got some difficult decisions coming up because they are not on the same page."

Reports suggest Meghan may be homesick, with the insider saying she would like to spend Christmas in the USA. The source reportedly said: "She misses her friends, she misses her day-to-day routine and she really misses her mom. She talks to Doria every day, usually multiple times but it’s not the same as spending every weekend with her."

Harry's concerns over leaving UK

Meanwhile, Prince Harry reportedly fears that heading away from the UK for Christmas may send the wrong message, according to News 24. The source reportedly said: "Harry hates the idea of leaving England over Christmas, it’s one of his favourite times of year and he worries that if they travel back to the US, it will look like they’re giving up and choosing to miss out on time with his father."

It is understood that the King welcomes the opportunity to see more of his family. In July, King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted the Sussexes, along with their children, at Highgrove House. That private meeting marked the first time the King had seen his grandchildren in four years, since 2022.

Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, have spent most of their lives living in America. The Sussexes plan to stay in the UK for what is being called an "extended" period of time.
