Two housemates are now at risk of being forced to leave the Big Brother house. The ITV2 reality show returned to screens tonight (September 30) with another action-packed episode. Ahead of Friday's impending live eviction, the cast have been deliberating who they will nominate for it.
However, a twist lay in store as part of the ongoing House of Nothing twist. So far, the housemates have been stripped of necessities including hot water, cutlery and even their beds. Throughout the week they have been trying to win back their items in a series of challenges, but another thing has just been taken away from a select few housemates: their vote.
House of Nothing twist strips nominations
"As part of this week’s House of Nothing, you were stripped of your voices, your possessions and the house furniture. You have also been stripped of your nominations. Today, nominations will be returned, but not all of you will receive them," Big Brother informed the stars.
It was up to the housemates - who were separated into three groups - to decide who would get to keep their votes, and which three people in the house would have their voices taken away.
Omar, Rhianna, Johanne and Rochelle were put together in one of the three groups and had to deliberate who out of Yasmin, Lynx, Frankie and Pauline would lose their right to nominate. However, the group failed to reach a unanimous decision and repeatedly clashed, prompting Big Brother to intervene.
Majority vote and eviction nominees revealed
"If housemates cannot reach a unanimous decision, Big Brother will take a majority vote," the group were informed before Rochelle and Johanne argued so intensely that the tannoy ordered them to be silent repeatedly. It was ultimately decided that Samuel, Pauline and Omar would lose their ability to nominate across the three groups.
Joanne and Rochelle are the two housemates who will face the public vote. Johanne received four nominations from Frankie, Lynx, Rhianna and Rochelle. Rochelle received six nominations from Harry, Johanne, Lynx, Philip, Rhianna and Yasmin.
Voting opens and Ofcom complaints revealed
Voting for Friday’s eviction opened at 10.15pm this evening with viewers being asked to vote for the housemate they wish to evict. Friday night's episode will air the next eviction and also feature the evicted star's first live interview with hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best.
The latest round of nominations comes as figures published by broadcasting watchdog Ofcom revealed that Big Brother fans have complained to Ofcom more than 500 times over two specific episodes of the ITV show. The episode aired on September 27 drew in 493 viewer complaints related to alleged racism and bullying claims towards Rochelle, by other housemates, including remarks by Johanne. It also recorded 91 complaints for the episode aired on September 21, with viewers complaining about racial remarks and references to nationality by Johanne and Omar.
