Grace Dent's private life: nine-year marriage and engagement
Grace Dent's private life: marriage, engagement, no kids

Grace Dent, known for her sharp restaurant reviews, has taken a leading role on Celebrity MasterChef alongside chef Giorgio Locatelli. Despite her public career, she has largely kept her private life away from the spotlight.

Nine-year marriage

The 52-year-old former I'm A Celebrity contestant was previously married for nine years, although she has never publicly identified her former husband. She has spoken about the difficulty of returning to the dating scene after the marriage ended, and revealed that the wedding took place in Las Vegas. She still has her wedding dress and has joked about wearing it again, saying she feels she looks like a "million dollars" in it.

Current relationship

Grace has been more forthcoming about her current relationship with a man named Charles, also referred to as Charlie. They met through mutual friends after following each other on Instagram, and the relationship began when Charles sent her a message asking if she would like to meet for coffee. Grace has spoken warmly about their romance, admitting she would look at his photographs online before they met and think he was extremely attractive. She later described him as "absolutely gorgeous" after their first meeting. The couple got engaged in 2021 after being together for around two years, according to previous reports.

Decision not to have children

Grace has also been candid about her decision not to become a parent. Speaking to The Guardian, she explained why the summer holidays often remind her why she decided not to have children of her own. She wrote, "I do like children. Just not enough. This still feels like a radical thing for a woman to say." She rounded off the article by saying, "Thank you for raising the future. You’re all amazing. But it’s still a no from me."

Celebrity MasterChef airs tonight from 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
