Prince George, the eldest son of Prince William and Princess Catherine, has shown emotional maturity by asking his parents if he could board at Lambrook School to prepare for his new life at Eton this September, according to reports.
Boarding decision
During a Heart Radio interview in May, Prince William revealed that George was already boarding at his school. Royal biographer Robert Jobson wrote: "[Catherine and William] agreed. It helped him grow, to be part of a collective."
Preparing for Eton
George turned 13 just days ago. Pupils at Eton typically start at age 13, compared to 11 for most secondary schools. Jobson added: "As he steps out in his tailcoat, false collar, he will look a picture. But the environment will protect him like it did his father, who thrived there."
Before last Christmas, George joined his father on a visit to the homelessness shelter that Princess Diana took William to at a similar age. William and George donned aprons at 'The Passage' charity, helping to prepare food and set tables.
Future king
George is second in line to the throne and is described as having an air of "playful seriousness" and an understanding of duty. Jobson expressed hope that George would enjoy his childhood and thrive at Eton, where he can blend in with his peers.
