GB News Issues 'Desperate' King Charles Update After Harry Move
GB News: King Charles 'Desperate' to See Harry's Children

GB News has issued an update on King Charles, describing him as "desperate" ahead of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's planned return to the United Kingdom. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to travel for the one-year countdown celebration of the Invictus Games, scheduled for July 2027 in Birmingham. This visit would mark the first time Harry has brought his family to the UK in four years, with Archie, aged seven, and Lilibet, aged five, accompanying them.

Security and Accommodation Arranged for Sussex Family

According to reports, King Charles has assured that security costs for the family will be covered, and they are set to stay at a royal residence during their time in the UK. The arrangements suggest ongoing behind-the-scenes negotiations between the royal family and the Sussexes.

Royal Commentator Expresses Doubt Over Meghan's Attendance

Former Royal Editor at The Sun, Charles Rae, shared his skepticism during an interview with GB News presenter Dawn Neesom. Rae stated: "Well, it's good news for the king because he'll get to see his grandchildren. He hasn't seen them since 2022. So if they come back, I've always been doubtful that Meghan would come back to this country. And to be perfectly honest, Dawn, I shall believe it when I actually see it, that she actually arrives back in the UK. But if she's coming with the children and Harry, it looks like to me that there's been quite a lot of behind-the-scenes negotiations. Harry clearly has relented a little bit on his stance that Britain is a dangerous country for his family."

King Charles Faces Difficult Balancing Act

Dawn Neesom commented on the delicate situation for the monarch, noting: "It's a very difficult tightrope for King Charles to travel along, isn't it? Because on one hand, obviously, you know, we know he's fighting cancer. He must be desperate to meet those grandchildren properly. But on the other hand, he's being used as a bit of a political pawn by Harry and Meghan."

Rae Accuses Harry and Meghan of 'Disgraceful' Behaviour

Charles Rae agreed with the assessment that the King is being used as a pawn but offered a glimmer of hope: "Yes, I agree that he is being used as a pawn. But, you know, this is supposedly an olive branch. Let's see how it all pans out. I mean, if the King gets to see his grandchildren, which is dearly worse, I mean, nobody likes to see families split up. I mean, I think Harry and Meghan have behaved disgracefully over the time that they've been in the States, in any case, with the visa attacks and so forth."

The update from GB News highlights the ongoing tensions within the royal family as they navigate personal relationships amid public scrutiny. The Invictus Games countdown event may offer an opportunity for reconciliation, but doubts remain about whether the visit will fully materialise.
