Fans slam Harry and Meghan's latest gala appearance

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a rare joint appearance at a gala in Canada, but not all royal fans were pleased. Harry and Meghan attended the David Foster Foundation 40th Anniversary Celebration in Victoria, British Columbia, last Friday, beaming as they posed on the blue carpet.

Social media backlash

Some fans took to social media to express their discontent. One user on X wrote: "The full-time dad and side-hustle mom have a date night, in Canada. Harry and Meghan clearly have nothing better to do and were in some desperate need of something glamorous, and [Victoria] is the best they could do."

Another commenter said: "Commonwealth countries do not want them in their countries." A third blasted: "Sad and irrelevant." A fourth opined: "They always ride on someone else's coattails. After 5 yrs, they should have been the ones hosting fundraisers for Archewell." A fifth added: "To be honest they are the kiss of death to any charity. They aren’t there to promote the cause it’s all about free publicity for H and M Markle."

Supporters defend the couple

Others came to their defense. One fan wrote: "Well, they certainly had something better to do than you obsessing about their whereabouts! They supported David Foster's foundation for children in need of donor organs. Maybe you should focus on something positive and stop gossiping about Harry and Meghan. Be kind." Another added: "They're in Victoria and they're there for a good cause. Supporting David Foster's foundation for children in need of donor organs. I get that you don't like Harry and Meghan but no need to trash Canada."

Recent travels

The Sussex appearance comes just a few weeks after their holiday in Europe, which included stops in Portugal and Britain.
