Emmerdale is set for an emotional week as two beloved Dingle characters face exits: Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) leaves for Germany, and the family dog Monty is put down.
Noah's Departure
On Tuesday (August 4), Noah told his mother Charity (Emma Atkins) that he had been offered a job in Düsseldorf and is leaving the next day. The electrician's relocation comes as Charity struggles with sexual assault and blackmail at the hands of Dr. Todd (Caroline Harker).
"This will always be home," Noah reassured Charity as he held back tears. "I'm sorry, I should have told you sooner, when I applied, but it is an amazing opportunity."
Charity replied, "I just think it's all happening a little bit fast, too fast even," as Noah offered to stay to be with his mum. According to reports, Jack Downham is leaving the soap after playing Noah since he was six years old.
Monty's Final Days
Across the village at Wishing Well Cottage, the Dingles face more heartbreak as Monty reaches his final days. Last month, the family learned of Monty's incurable cancer, with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) fighting to extend the dog's life.
On Tuesday, Cain pointed out that Monty is "looking better," but Belle (Eden-Taylor Draper) said, "You know what Rhona said, though. There's a tumour, it's spreading. There's nothing we can do to stop it." Cain insisted, "they don't always get it right."
Later, Cain found Monty lying on original owner Zak Dingle's grave and decided it was time to let him go, giving him one more night at home. "You have got to be kind to him, and let him go," Cain told his sons. Wednesday will be Monty's final day alive.
