Elvis ex Linda Thompson returns to King's grave in 'sombre and bittersweet' visit
Elvis ex Linda Thompson returns to King's grave in visit

Linda Thompson, Elvis Presley's former girlfriend, returned to Graceland for Elvis Week, sharing an emotional photo at his grave and calling the visit 'bittersweet'.

Return to Graceland

It was 49 years ago yesterday when Elvis Presley died at just 42 of a heart attack. Eight months prior, he amicably broke up with his live-in girlfriend of four and a half years, Linda Thompson. The Miss Tennessee beauty queen continues to regularly post pictures of her time with the King of Rock and Roll on her Instagram. And most recently has done the same from her latest visit to Graceland for Elvis week.

Emotional tribute

Among the age-defying 76-year-old's snaps inside Graceland's kitchen and Jungle Room are a couple with Jerry Schilling, one of the Memphis Mafia members. And there's a particularly emotional one of Linda standing over the King's grave. She captioned the post: "Elvis Week in Memphis at Graceland is both a celebratory occasion and a somber one. We remember the man who changed not only music, but so many of our lives as well. Coming back to the home where I lived for 4 1/2 years with Elvis is bittersweet; with so many incredible memories. I am always honoured to be here in the company of others who revere and love Elvis."
