EastEnders ended with a bang tonight, as Peter Beale kicked Lauren Branning out of their home - and the BBC have teased that there's plenty more drama on the way.
Confrontation and confession
In tonight's episode, Peter (Thomas Law) confronted his wife Lauren (Jacqueline Jossa) after suspecting that she was having an affair with Mark Fowler (Stephen Aaron-Sipple). After revealing that he went through her phone and saw texts between them, Lauren admitted that they were in a dodgy car deal, where Mark would steal cars and flip them for Lauren to sell on.
Infuriated, Peter raged at Lauren for lying to him and risking prison, despite the fact that without the money she earned, they could not afford the nursery they needed for their blind infant son Jimmy. Peter packed Lauren a bag and demanded she leave their home - which Lauren took over from her cousin Sonia Jackson (Natalie Cassidy).
What's next?
Tomorrow's episode will see the drama continue, as Lauren and Peter are separated. The BBC have released two images from tomorrow's episode showing how each person is faring.
In one, Mark takes hold of Lauren's face and looks like he is about to kiss her. Spoilers for the show already suggested that Lauren was torn over her feelings for Mark and her loyalty to Peter, so will this be the moment she finally makes her decision?
Meanwhile, another picture shows a depressed Peter sitting on the sofa of his house, while his mum, Cindy (Michelle Collins), held Jimmy on her hip. Cindy has been insistent that Lauren is a bad egg since she returned to the show, and her anger at Lauren recently caused a rift with her fiance, Max Branning (Jake Wood) as he is Lauren's father.
Fan predictions
Fans have predicted that Lauren and Peter will get back together, but that this won't stop her from starting something with Mark. One fan said: "We all know how this is going to go (the flash-forward also shows us Peter and Lauren are still together)."
"Mark is going to speak to Peter and will take the total blame for the cars, Peter will then as usual ‘forgive’ Lauren and so their joke of a relationship starts again for the umpteenth time, meanwhile Lauren and Mark are going to start sleeping together and Peter will be totally unaware because he thinks their relationship was just about the cars."
"Also when Max tells Lauren he knows what she’s been up to in the NYE episode, we know now it isn’t about the stolen cars (unless maybe they stop and start up again later).
"So that means Lauren and Mark are going to be continuing their affair until then or maybe Max is referring to yet another thing (but im leaning more to the affair). Also I’m fairly certain now that Lauren will now change Mark’s name on her phone and that’s who she will be texting on NYE."
Another agreed: "Knowing Peter went through her phone she’ll obviously take Marks name out. I was hoping it wasn’t going to be just another cheating storyline for Lauren in the supposed year of the Brannings, but unfortunately it’s not looking that way."
