Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has teased Gary and Maria Windass's future as an affair bombshell is set to be dropped in Weatherfield. A dramatic new trailer has given viewers of the ITV soap a glimpse inside a dinner party with a difference, set to take place on the cobbles next week, when home truths are served and the tea is most definitely spilt.
Dinner Party Drama Unfolds
The soiree is organised by DC Kit Green, who is planning to pop the question to his partner, Sarah Platt. However, Maria is highly suspicious that her husband, Gary, and his former flame, Sarah, are carrying on behind her and Kit's back. She talks her way into an invite to the dinner party to confront them.
Corrie fans have seen Sarah and Gary having hushed conversations and publicly defending one another, which comes as the investigation into Theo Silverton's death unfolds on the cobbles. Theo's lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain, months after it was teased that he could be one of five villains murdered in the dramatic storyline on the night of Lisa and Carla Connor-Swain's wedding.
Flashbacks and Revelations
In Monday's (June 22) episode of Corrie, a series of flashbacks revisit the fateful April night when his body was found. Spoilers have already revealed that the episode will start with a flashforward that will give viewers a glimpse inside Sarah and Kit's flat, where the remnants of a dinner party with broken glass, a chair upended and blood splattered across the tablecloth are seen.
Speaking about the scenes ahead and how the dinner party descends into disaster, Samia said: "She's kind of lit the fuse… so she's not shocked! This is exactly what she wanted. The moment Kit invited her to the dinner party, she thought, 'Right, brilliant. This is where I'm going to do it. This is where I'm going to confront both of them and let it all out!' At first, she was trying to be nice to Gary, wondering if he was okay and what could possibly be wrong with him. But as time goes on, she decides she's not cool with it anymore. Her reaction to the chaos is pretty much to be expected!"
What Lies Ahead for Gary and Maria?
Following the dinner party, viewers will see Maria giving Gary the cold shoulder. Could this be the end of the road for them? Samia teased: "I mean, it could be. It's a lot to get through. If they can get through this, I feel like they can weather any storm. They've been through a lot of trials in their relationship already, but this is definitely the most challenging thing they've ever had to navigate."
