Charity uses Todd's corpse in Emmerdale grim twist

In tonight's episode of Emmerdale, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and her granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) are reeling from the accidental death of Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker). After Sarah shoved Todd, causing her to fall and fatally hit her head, the pair initially consider calling the police. But Sarah's fear of a murder charge pushes them toward a grim plan: disposing of the body in an old sleeping bag.

Their scheme is interrupted by the arrival of Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy), who is horrified to find the corpse. After demanding the truth, Serena agrees to help construct a cover story. Yet Charity deviates, calling the police and claiming she killed Todd in self-defence.

Serena's chilling act

To bolster the self-defence claim, Serena dons marigolds and uses Todd's own hand to scratch Charity's arm, creating a defensive wound. She then warns them to omit her name entirely and prepares to flee, cautioning that the coming months will be tough as police question them.

As sirens approach, Sarah pleads with Charity to promise that this will soon be a distant memory. The pair reaffirm their love for each other just as the police arrive, forcing them to face the terrifying road ahead.
