Jeremy Clarkson's pub, The Farmer's Dog, has compiled a growing list of famous faces banned from the establishment. The ban list includes former Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, his Grand Tour co-stars James May and Richard Hammond, and all Labour MPs.
Keir Starmer was the first to be banned
Before the pub even opened its doors in 2024, Clarkson announced that Starmer was banned. After branding the Labour government a "hopeless bunch," the presenter told Times Radio's Cathy Newman that Starmer was not welcome.
"No, he's banned. Actually, he's the first person to be banned. He's actually on a board in the hall; he's banned," Clarkson said.
James May and Richard Hammond join the list
The next person to join the banned list was his Grand Tour co-host and pal, James May. While it was initially a joke, May played along, adding: "But I have said before that it's a bit like being banned from the golf club - because I wasn't going to go anyway."
He said: "I've got my own pub, which is just around the corner, so I'm not going to go 75 miles to his. Especially if mine is better."
After much speculation, the Grand Tour co-host Richard Hammond addressed rumours of him being banned on DriveTribe. He stated: "Actually, do you know, I think I am [banned]. I think I am, and if I'm not, I've always said I want to be."
All Labour MPs barred from the pub
In addition to the former Labour leader, Clarkson banned all the party's MPs from The Farmer's Dog. This appears to be in protest over taxes on the hospitality industry, which the presenter has been vocal about.
After the future of small pubs was at risk due to the 2025 business rates, the 66-year-old slammed the then-Labour government. "I was well ahead of the curve when I banned Starmer. Every Labour MP is barred now," he told The Sun.
Clarkson added: "Our annual business rates have gone up astronomically from something like £28,000 to well over £50,000. It is a disgrace."
