Everton and Liverpool legends will put rivalry aside on Saturday, September 26, for the inaugural Game4Hope charity match at Goodison Park. The combined Merseyside XI will face a Rest of the World XI packed with international football icons.
Charity impact and venue
All proceeds from ticket sales and broadcasts will directly support Everton in the Community and Shelter. The funds raised will help both organisations deliver crucial frontline services and combat homelessness.
Goodison Park will host the clash, giving fans the chance to see former favourites from both clubs share the historic pitch. Stadium gates and fan zones will open early in the afternoon ahead of the evening action.
Kick-off time and how to watch
The match kicks off at 4:45pm on Saturday, September 26. Supporters attending in person are advised to arrive early to catch the pre-match build-up and entertainment.
Live television coverage will air nationwide on the free-to-air Channel 5, starting at 4pm. Viewers who prefer to stream the match online can watch it live via the My5 platform.
Merseyside XI and Rest of the World lineups
Coached by Peter Reid and John Barnes with Tim Cahill as captain, the Merseyside XI squad features Everton icons Leighton Baines, Gareth Barry, Phil Jagielka, Joleon Lescott, Louis Saha and Yakubu alongside Liverpool legends Robbie Fowler, David James, Ryan Babel, Jari Litmanen and John Aldridge. They will be joined by celebrity supporters, including former boxing champion Tony Bellew, comedian John Bishop and MMA star Molly McCann.
The opposition side is co-captained by Brazil legend Rivaldo and Clarence Seedorf, with a roster featuring the likes of Cafu, Jaap Stam and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Celebrity guests will also play a part, alongside a live half-time musical performance by Tinie Tempah.
