Casualty Spoiler: Dylan Uncovers Stevie's Affair and Makes Huge Decision

Warning: Contains spoilers. Dylan Keogh finally learned the truth about Stevie Nash and his son Matty Linlaker's secret affair in a tense episode of Casualty, set to air tonight (June 13) but available now on BBC iPlayer. The revelation leads Dylan to make a significant decision with major consequences.

Following Stevie terminating their liaison via text the night before, Matty sought solace in alcohol. In today's instalment of the BBC medical drama, he awakens in his vehicle nursing a headache. Dylan locates him and reproaches his son for behaving recklessly, cautioning him that his fellowship could be withdrawn at any moment. Matty, however, hints that he might be departing Holby shortly regardless.

As his shift commences, Matty collaborates with Stevie and assists in successfully preserving the life of a seriously unwell patient, but he subsequently rushes off to be sick after his excessive evening of drinking. When Stevie learns of Matty's departure intentions, she seeks him out, having received numerous intoxicated messages from him the previous evening. The duo engage in a frank discussion about their liaison, with Matty still struggling to comprehend why she terminated matters between them.

Later, Matty discovers a conversation between Stevie and Flynn and realizes that the pair had been out together at a bar at the very moment she sent him a break-up text. Matty challenges Stevie over the true nature of her connection with Flynn, flatly refusing to accept that nothing is going on between them. Back in resus, Dylan witnesses Matty snapping at Stevie, prompting him to tear into his son for being disrespectful towards his friend and the doctor who rescued his career. This proves to be the breaking point for Matty, who reveals that it was actually Stevie who made the grave error that he had taken the blame for.

Dylan struggles to comprehend why Matty would shield her, but it gradually dawns on him that Stevie was the woman his son had been besotted with. Matty proceeds to tell his stunned father every detail of their clandestine affair, and Dylan places the responsibility squarely on Stevie as the considerably more senior physician. Matty persuades Dylan to allow him to handle matters with Stevie personally. Shortly after, Stevie apologizes to him for acting selfishly and taking advantage, and the two mutually agree to draw a line under their romance.

Stevie is subsequently summoned to Flynn's office, where she realizes Dylan has lodged a formal complaint against her. This encompasses both her near-fatal error of prescribing excessive morphine to a child and her undisclosed relationship with Matty. With an investigation now looming over these allegations, could Dylan's report spell the end of Stevie's medical career?

Casualty airs on Saturday nights on BBC One and streams first on BBC iPlayer, where episodes are released at 6am on the day.
