Princess Beatrice has a close relationship with her uncle, King Charles, despite not being a working royal. The princess, 38, may not carry out work for the monarchy, but she is still very much part of the Royal Family behind closed doors.
Support amid family scandals
Despite having a tough year following her parents, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson’s scandals, Beatrice is believed to have been supported by royal relatives. This support is likely to include her uncle King Charles, who reportedly pays for her apartment at St James’s Palace.
It is believed that the pair have always been close, and this hasn’t changed despite the scandals surrounding Beatrice’s parents.
Body language expert's analysis
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton said: “Beatrice appears to have a close relationship with the King. Analysing pictures of them together, they seem to have the same sense of humour as there’s often photos of them laughing and genuinely getting on.
“People often misjudge King Charles as being serious, but I don’t think that’s true at all. Like the late Queen, he clearly has a great sense of humour.
“You can see in their body language just how reciprocal and natural their interactions are. They often appear visibly joyful, smiling and laughing together.
“Beatrice, in particular, shows genuine happiness. I've seen quite a few images where they're interacting, and it’s clear there's a strong bond between them.”
He continued: “Overall, her relationship with the King seems especially strong and affectionate. Their body language often mirrors one another, which is a strong indicator of emotional connection.
“She’s warm and comfortable with gestures like a kiss on the cheek, yet still maintains royal protocol and respect. You can see she’s very close to her uncle.”
Close family ties
Beatrice is believed to get on well with many of her royal relatives, including her cousins Prince William, Prince Harry, Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips.
Despite the scandals swirling around the York family, Peter still invited Beatrice to his wedding this summer, along with Beatrice’s sister Princess Eugenie.
As they arrived at the wedding, the sisters were greeted warmly by their royal relatives with hugs and kisses, showing the world how close the family remain.
