Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie are reportedly preparing for the worst case scenario as they fight to secure their place within the monarchy, with reports of a power battle between the sisters.
The daughters of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson are reportedly trying to distance themselves from their parents as well as Meghan Markle, according to reports.
Sisters 'going their separate ways'
A source told Woman's Day: "Beatrice and Eugenie both want to put some distance between themselves and their parents, and now they’re doing the same with each other."
The source added: "They love each other dearly, of course, but they’ve realised that always being seen as a package deal hasn’t necessarily helped them so they’re going their separate ways."
The insider reportedly said there's "a lot at stake" for the two at the moment, as they’re "both fighting to hang on to their place within the monarchy and that pressure has definitely got them feeling competitive."
Book scandal with Meghan Markle
Beatrice and Eugenie reportedly became more distant after Eugenie found herself in a scandal with Meghan Markle.
In early October, a copy of Meghan’s book The Bench, which she gifted Eugenie, was being sold on eBay for £19,999 ($26,000). The listing has since ended, but it showed a photo of Meghan’s handwritten note to Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.
Eugenie was reportedly "horrified" to see the book on eBay and claimed she didn’t know how it happened, reports StyleCaster.
