Beatrice and Eugenie 'locked in power battle' amid royal rift

Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are reportedly "locked in a power battle" as they try to distance themselves from their parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, as well as Meghan Markle. The siblings have both established their own families and have sought to avoid any royal controversy that might threaten their stability.

Sisters going their separate ways

A source told Woman's Day: "Beatrice and Eugenie both want to put some distance between themselves and their parents, and now they're doing the same with each other."

The source continued: "They love each other dearly, of course, but they've realised that always being seen as a package deal hasn't necessarily helped them so they're going their separate ways."

Fighting for their place in the monarchy

The insider allegedly claimed there's "a lot at stake" for the pair currently, as they're "both fighting to hang on to their place within the monarchy and that pressure has definitely got them feeling competitive." Eugenie and Beatrice are supposedly working to "line up opportunities to keep them afloat should the worst-case scenario happen."

Book scandal adds to tensions

Beatrice and Eugenie allegedly grew apart following a scandal involving Eugenie and Meghan Markle. In early October, a copy of Meghan's book The Bench, which she had gifted to Eugenie, was listed on eBay for £19,999 ($26,000). The listing has since been removed, but it featured a photo of Meghan's handwritten note to Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank.

According to StyleCaster, Eugenie was reportedly "horrified" to see the book on eBay and claimed she had no idea how it ended up there.
