Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie cannot house Sarah Ferguson long-term
Beatrice and Eugenie cannot house Sarah Ferguson long-term

Sarah Ferguson has reportedly turned to her daughters Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie for help after facing backlash over her and her ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted American child sex offender. Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein.

Emotional reunion and desperate plea

In an “emotional” reunion, Beatrice and Eugenie are understood to have paid her a visit. Sarah has grown “desperate” for her daughters to help her out of the “nightmare” that followed being forced out of Royal Lodge in October, according to Closer Magazine.

One thing the princesses cannot do

Princess Beatrice lives in the Cotswolds, while Princess Eugenie splits her time between Kensington Palace and a Portuguese villa. However, insiders have said that there is one thing neither of the royals can do for their mother: neither can put Sarah up in the long term, reports LBC.

Criticism over royal homes

The two princesses, who are not working royals, received some public criticism just weeks ago when it emerged that their royal homes are paid for by the King. Princess Eugenie has not had to pay anything for her cottage on the Kensington Palace estate, and the same applies to Princess Beatrice with her royal London apartment.

While King Charles has not commented on the matter, it is believed that some people are not happy about the sisters living rent-free, especially as they are not working royals.

Sarah's whereabouts and history

Sarah's current exact whereabouts remains unknown, with reports suggesting that at one time she was keeping a low profile in an Austrian hideaway. Andrew and Sarah separated in 1992, and the divorce was finalised in 1996 to allow Sarah to pursue her career and gain greater financial freedom. Despite their separation and divorce, the pair have remained close friends and spent time together in the years that followed.

Andrew was forced to leave Royal Lodge and move to Marsh Farm in Norfolk, leaving Sarah to find a new home too.
