The Duke and Duchess of Sussex could face backlash from their children in the future, according to a royal expert. Prince Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five, have grown up in Montecito, California, with minimal exposure to their UK royal relatives since Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
Expert Warns of Future Backlash
Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, told The Sun: "I think the children could be really annoyed, not now, but when they grow up, with their father and mother." She added that they could ask "Why haven't you introduced me to my other life, my cousins, my heritage?" and noted that would be "an awkward one for Harry and Meghan to explain."
Children's Limited UK Exposure
Archie and Lilibet visited the UK earlier this month and reunited with King Charles at Highgrove, but they had not been in the country since 2022. The children are believed to know King Charles, Queen Camilla, and Harry's close cousins Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. However, they are unlikely to know Prince William, Princess Catherine, or their cousins Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Estrangement from William's Family
Harry, 41, has been estranged from his older brother William for several years. The rift stems from Harry's public criticisms of the Royal Family in interviews, television appearances, and his memoir Spare. This separation has limited the children's interaction with the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children.
