Andrew's 'No Purpose' Life as Removal Vans Signal Royal Lodge Exit
Andrew's 'No Purpose' Life as He Leaves Royal Lodge

Prince Andrew has been described as having "no purpose in life" as removal vans were spotted arriving at his vast Windsor home, signalling his imminent departure from Royal Lodge.

Imminent Move to Smaller Norfolk Property

On Wednesday, 15 January 2026, images emerged showing a vehicle carrying Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor departing his long-term residence, the 30-room Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park. Simultaneously, a removal lorry was seen arriving, though it remains unconfirmed if the move was happening that day.

According to reports, the former Duke of York will first relocate to temporary accommodation on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, potentially by late January. His permanent new home is expected to be the five-bedroom Marsh Farm, near the village of Wolferton, which has been described as "ramshackle" and in need of significant work to become habitable.

Royal Experts Question Andrew's Future Purpose

Commenting on the development, royal experts have openly questioned how Andrew will fill his days in his new, more isolated setting. Matt Wilkinson, The Sun's Royal editor, noted that while Andrew enjoys horse riding, he pointedly observed that the prince "doesn't have a job."

During a discussion on The Sun's Royal Exclusive podcast, veteran royal photographer Arthur Edwards stated, "I mean, no purpose in life, you know... we all need a purpose in life. You know, whatever it is, rearing your children, whatever. You know, he seems to just be..." Wilkinson suggested charity work as a potential avenue.

Security Upgrades and Low Profile

The speculation about Marsh Farm being Andrew's future home arose following an extension of the no-fly zone over the property. Further sightings of a Sky engineer and the installation of enhanced security measures, including CCTV and a six-foot fence, have been reported.

Andrew, who has consistently denied allegations related to his association with the late Jeffrey Epstein, has kept a low profile with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. It is reported that the pair did not receive invitations to the Royal Family's Christmas Day festivities last year. Ferguson, who has lived with Andrew at Royal Lodge since 2008, is also expected to leave the property but will remain in the Windsor area.

Buckingham Palace has not officially confirmed that Marsh Farm will be Andrew's new residence. The prince has lived at Royal Lodge since 2004, after it was passed to him following the Queen Mother's death in 2002.
