Celebrity Traitors fans believe Julie Hesmondhalgh may have "let slip" the winner of the series after she praised Maya Jama's game-playing. The actress was banished from the castle at the roundtable, despite being a Faithful, and has since spoken warmly about her co-stars.
Julie Hesmondhalgh's Maya Jama comments
Speaking about Maya on BBC Radio 5 Live, Julie said: "Oh she's a machine. She's absolutely incredible. I saw her on Instagram apologising for her lack of glam in the show because she was so tired."
She laughed as she said: "It's time for us all to throw in the towel now in any attempts to be anything remotely glamorous. She's just such an incredible person, and so kind actually and warm."
The actress added: "She's playing the game like a good'un. I don't like it when Traitors win, but I might even make an exception for Maya."
Fans react to the comments
After this comment, fans rushed to the comments wondering if Julie had "let slip" that Maya will win, or whether she is just making her own predictions. On Instagram, one Traitors fan said: "So she won?? Is that what she is saying?" A second replied: "She said she might make an exception, doesn't mean she did. A lot of the players won't know."
A third said: "Maya is THE BEST". But according to the BBC, when the contestants are banished, they do not find out the winner of the competition until it plays out on-screen for viewers.
Final date confirmed
During the latest episode, Traitors Maya and James Acaster had to decide whether to recruit or murder. They decided to recruit Kenny, who was incredibly excited to be taking on the role of a Traitor.
The BBC recently confirmed the date of the final. The finale episode of Celebrity Traitors will air the day before Halloween, on Friday, October 30.
Celebrity Traitors airs Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
