Celebrity Traitors fans believe comedian Romesh Ranganathan is set to be murdered next after the Traitors were given the chance to kill a player face to face. The twist saw host Claudia Winkleman knock at the turret door and present James Acaster, Maya Jama and newly recruited Traitor Hannah Fry with an eerie game of hide-and-seek.
The Traitors selected Ross Kemp, Rob Beckett, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Romesh Ranganathan to hide in four different crypts deep within the forest. Former Little Mix star Leigh-Anne was handed immunity as the three men chose her to possess a key that locked her crypt door from the inside, leaving Ross, Rob and Romesh at risk of being murdered.
Viewers convinced Romesh is the target
Taking to Reddit after the episode, viewers agreed Romesh is the most likely victim. One fan recalled a comment made at the round table about choosing the most faithful person, noting: "It's only round table number 3 and we're wanting to banish them." Another pointed out that Romesh had made that remark, suggesting it could lead to his demise.
They wrote: "Romesh, which is why I really don't want him to go. Besides Hannah (who is a Traitor now), probably the best analytical mind left in it." Another fan added: "Romesh regularly says incredibly insightful things at the roundtable and looks at things from interesting angles. I think he'll get killed in the hide-and-seek for it."
Ratings and friendship spotlight
The BBC reported Friday's episode drew a peak audience of 9.6 million viewers, just short of the 10.3 million who tuned in for Thursday's show. The opening episode of the second season became the most-watched debut of any series of the programme in the UK to date, with 8.9 million viewers.
Elsewhere, Rob Beckett and Romesh discussed their two-decade friendship and fears it wouldn't survive TV, with Rob previously telling The Mirror: "We were close before, but now we're like brothers. I love Romesh to pieces, and my biggest fear was: 'I hope this show didn't make us drift apart like some people on TV do'. If anything, our friendship has increased and we've become stronger."
Fans have also taken to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts on the pair. One wrote: "I'm begging #celebritytraitors to leave best buddies #rob and #romesh in the show until the end." Another commented: "If they murder Rob or Romesh I will SUE." A third added: "I fear it's gonna be either Rob or Romesh and I'm gonna miss the dynamic duo together."
The Celebrity Traitors returns to BBC One on Thursday at 8pm.
