Strictly Come Dancing star Sarah Storey has revealed she was left in tears while learning her upcoming Tango routine with professional partner Julian Caillon. The 48-year-old is preparing to perform to Shania Twain's That Don't Impress Much Much during Icons Week on the BBC show.
Sharing a photo of herself looking sad in a mirror on her Instagram stories, Storey wrote: "Big fat Tango tears, almost taking me down today." She added: "Typical that the words of the song I was making all the mistakes in were 'that don't impress me much' (No one said becoming an Icon was going to be easy though)."
A 'rollercoaster' day in rehearsals
Despite the emotional start, the athlete later posted a clip from her partner's account where they discussed the 'rollercoaster' nature of their day. Storey said: "Thankfully, we finished the day in a much better place. I'm so grateful to Julian Caillon for being prepared to work late and keep going over and over everything until it sinks in."
Last weekend, Storey and Caillon performed a Paso Doble, earning a score of 20 from the judges, placing them near the bottom of the leaderboard alongside Lawrence Robb and John Nellis.
Delta Goodrem withdraws due to injury
The rankings are set to change again this weekend as the celebrities return for Icons Week. However, Delta Goodrem will not appear on screens this weekend, having been forced to withdraw for a week due to a rib injury. In a statement, she said: "I'm absolutely gutted that a rib injury means I won't be able to dance on Strictly this week. I've been loving every second of this experience, so having to sit this out is heartbreaking- especially after the height of Saturday night."
She added: "I can not tell you how much I love being a part of this magical show. I'm going to focus on resting and recovering, and hopefully, I'll be back on that dancefloor very soon." Goodrem also thanked fans for their support, saying she would be "cheering everyone on from the sidelines this week." Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday on BBC One from 6:15pm.
