Strictly Come Dancing fans believe they have finally worked out which roles the three presenters play on the show. As week three kicked off, viewers shared their reactions online, praising Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe, who took over as a presenting trio for the 24th series, replacing long-standing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Fans Identify Presenter Roles
While watching the BBC show, fans said their roles now seem to be clear. A viewer posted on X: "Based on what we've seen so far, it's now clear that Emma will be mainly front of house & Johannes will be mostly in the green room for both performance & results shows. Josh will be front of house with Emma on Saturdays, then mostly I'm the green room on Sundays."
Another said: "Well Josh you look great for a Saturday night entertainment show, oh Emma noooo looking forward to Johannes and his celebrity partner to dance."
Praise for the Trio
Praising the trio, one more fan shared: "Jo Jo getting better every week. Emma excellent. Don't get Josh at all.. he's holding her back.. Perhaps better upstairs? Clearly, they are all staying."
"Emma looks amazing," someone else shared, "so does JoJo and Josh." One more added: "I definitely think Josh is better. He's a bit calmer."
Ian Waite's View on Josh
It comes after Strictly pro legend Ian Waite said he believes that new host Josh needs to "find his funny" on the dancing show and that viewers have yet to truly see his comedic side. The 55-year-old, who starred on Strictly for seven series, is famously still friends with his 2005 partner Zoe Ball and spoke to her after she was rejected from the hosting gig. He reckons she would have been "brilliant" in the role.
"I've been watching Strictly and seeing all the new stuff that's going on," he told the Mirror. "I think it's probably been a big learning curve for [BBC bosses] as well, because obviously we haven't changed quite so much on Strictly ever before."
"So much has changed with the new pros, new presenters. I think it's a lot to get used to." However, he believes that Josh, Emma and Johannes are improving. "Each week that goes past, the presenting team seem to be getting better and finding their feet," he said.
"I'm particularly happy for Johannes because I think it's great that a pro has got a prominent job like that, like Anton getting the judging role. I think it just makes sense. If we've been there for so long, it makes sense for you know there to be some sort of moving on to that sort of stage."
He added: "Obviously Emma's amazing and I think Josh will come into his own. I think he just needs to find his feet and find his funny because he is so funny and and we have yet to really see that."
