Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left frustrated after Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley's routine was "spoilt" by a significant camera error. The Channel 5 personality and his professional partner performed the Waltz from the classic film The Godfather, starring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino. Midway through their routine, audiences were taken aback when the camera shook dramatically for several moments before stabilising.
Viewers react to the camera shake
Graeme and Lauren appeared oblivious to the mishap as they carried on with their performance, though viewers expressed their dissatisfaction with the mistake. One commented: "Even the camera people are f***ing up now. did anyone else just see that? Tripped over or something?" Another stated: "Shame the cameraman spoiled it cause watching Graeme is always a joy."
A third remarked: "Camera person having a mare at this Graham and Lauren dance." A fourth observed: "Has the cameraman just run over a penguin during Graham's dance? It went all juddery," reports the Express.
Judges' praise and scores
As the judging panel heaped praise upon them, with Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas offering a standing ovation, another concurred: "This was the best dance of the night so far," with numerous others in agreement. The panel awarded their highest marks of the evening, with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi and Shirley each giving 8s, while Anton provided 7, resulting in a total score of 31 for the pair.
Presenter line-up unchanged
Meanwhile, viewers expressed disappointment as the programme began with Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe remaining in the identical presenting roles as the previous week. Audiences had been requesting that Josh move backstage and switch with Johannes, who had assumed Claudia Winkleman's position in the auditorium, believing it would better complement his comic sensibilities.
One viewer remarked: "I don't understand why they're not varying the presenting. Why is Johannes in the Clauditorium again? I'd have thought they would have swapped over and had Josh Widdicombe there this week after presenting on the floor last week." Another added: "Really surprised they haven't switched and tried Josh in the upstairs role after the feedback from last week." Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight at 7:10pm on BBC One.
