Oasis fans have expressed their frustration after the band confirmed that no more ticket sale codes would be issued shortly after 1.30pm today.
To get tickets for the Oasis Live '27 tour, fans had to register in a special ticket ballot system designed to ensure a smooth and fair experience. That meant fans had to register and then receive a unique, non-transferable code which could be used during a designated sale window online.
In the UK nine ticket sale windows took place. Three were held on Friday, with a further three on Saturday and three more today, Sunday, September 27. Each one opened for three hours and opened at 9am, 1pm and 5pm on each day.
Band announces final sale windows
Shortly after 1.30pm on Sunday, just after the second window opened, the band announced that no more codes would be issued. The post shared on both X and Instagram read: “All codes have now been sent out, with the final sale windows happening today. Please avoid scams involving social media accounts selling codes or tickets. These will be fake or invalid.
“Tickets currently on secondary websites are liable to be cancelled. Resale tickets will be available nearer the events and will only be available, at the price originally paid, through Ticketmaster and Twickets.”
Fans share their disappointment
The posts were flooded with comments from fans, mainly those who hadn’t managed to get hold of tickets, whether that was due to missing out on a code, or struggling to get tickets once they had access.
On X, user @TheElzPet commented: “Shocking way to treat loyal fans who have spent thousands over the years and didn’t’ even get the chance to try….” X user @JohnHic87783993 added: “Getting a code for today was essentially pointless. There was nothing available.”
@bleudenie wrote: “The way this was handled is such a shame. I hate how you did it, how many people got several ticket and in other side, some true fans from very long time didn’t get one chance with theses damn code ! Theses sales is a shame for the future of ticketing, and for the true fans.”
Some fans said a normal general sale would have been better. X user @_osmosis_ wrote: “Would’ve much preferred a free for all and at-least being able to ATTEMPT to get tickets, then if you didn’t get any it would just be “oh well, I tried”. What’s killing is people is that they couldn’t even attempt to get tickets.”
@LiteraryElf replied: “You're right. It's the days of constantly refreshing emails, and not even given a chance to try. 6 of us were registered and not one code. We've been huge fans since the very start. Gutted. “
Some fans were lucky
Some fans accepted that they just weren’t lucky. On X user @ThomasCoughla20 wrote: “Have to say extremely disappointed not to get a code. Couldn’t get tickets in Ireland or Britain last year even tho I got down to number 11 in the queue. Had to travel from Ireland to Roger’s Stadium in Canada to see yee. And actually went to both gigs. It is what it is I suppose”.
Over on Instagram, user Madferit129 commented: “This was quite an unfair system tbh... I understand wanting to stagger the sales, but at least give every fan a chance to try…”. Some fans did see the funnier side, @stefaniamontonati wrote: “I was waiting for this code more than my Hogwarts letter.”
But there were some lucky fans who managed to bag tickets. On X @nelly_8423 wrote: “That was a stressful Sunday but managed to get some tickets to see you guys in Manchester!” On Instagram Keriwithakay commented: “I got a code, and i got tickets. Im super excited. This is the most important thing in the world to me!”
The Live '27 tour will kick off at Celtic Park in Glasgow on May 21 next year, with a total of five shows at the stadium. The Gallagher brothers will then play eleven shows at Manchester's Etihad Stadium from June 4 to 26 - marking their first time together at a City ground since their epic gigs at Maine Road in 1996.
The set of shows will also include two nights at Slane Castle in Ireland, and will conclude with six gigs at Knebworth Park. In-between, there will also be shows across Europe and the United States, including in Munich, Rome, Paris, Barcelona and Las Vegas.
Ticketmaster has been approached for comment.
