Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left furious after a camera blunder 'ruined' Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley's routine, which many called the best dance of the night. The Channel 5 presenter and his professional partner performed to The Godfather Waltz from the film The Godfather, featuring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino.
Camera shake sparks viewer backlash
Midway through their performance, the camera suddenly shook violently for several seconds before stabilising again. Graeme and Lauren appeared completely oblivious to the mishap as they carried on with their routine, but fans were incensed and took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to complain.
One viewer fumed: "Even the camera people are f***ing up now. Did anyone else just see that? Tripped over or something?" Another moaned: "Shame the cameraman spoiled it cause watching Graeme is always a joy."
A third weighed in: "Camera person having a mare at this Graham and Lauren dance." A fourth observed: "Has the cameraman just run over a penguin during Graham's dance? It went all juddery."
Judges praise despite technical hiccup
Despite the technical hiccup, the panel heaped praise on the duo, with Motsi Mabuse and Shirley Ballas leaping to their feet in appreciation. Another viewer declared: "This was the best dance of the night so far," with countless others in agreement.
The judges awarded their highest marks of the evening, with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi and Shirley each giving 8s, while Anton offered 7, securing the pair a total of 31 points.
Presenting lineup criticised
Fans were also left feeling let down as the show began with Emma Willis, Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe resuming their same presenting roles from the previous week. Viewers had been pleading for Josh to switch places with Johannes, who had stepped into Claudia Winkleman's shoes in the auditorium, believing his comedic style would be better suited there.
One viewer expressed: "I don't understand why they're not varying the presenting. Why is Johannes in the Clauditorium again? I'd have thought they would have swapped over and had Josh Widdicombe there this week after presenting on the floor last week."
Another chimed in: "Really surprised they haven't switched and tried Josh in the upstairs role after the feedback from last week." Strictly Come Dancing returns tonight at 7:10pm on BBC One.
